9.xx S3 Usage
I don't imagine I'll get to most of that anytime soon. And is this blog is an indication of anything. It'll hang around for a long time before being touched again.
How the world has changed...
So I just happened to read an old thread about backup strategies people used for home computers and many suggestions included hard drives in safes, custom scripts to ftp archives to remote computers and such. I was just like "Hasn't anyone heard of Amazon S3?" Then I saw it was from 2008, no I guess they hadn't.
Go Google Go
We have IPv6 and we UUUUUUUUUUse it!
So I was looking through the logs in my mail server and I noticed that emails coming from gmail are coming in on IPv6. Go them for being on top of this!

Awesome program I just found to analyze disk usage. Gives you a graphical representation of every files size on the computer. Easily see the largest files and directories. I love it and you should too.

So. I stopped making videos for this almost as soon as I started, but that had something to do with the fact that I had to master a video from a real video camera. Now I can just make short clips with my webcam. I think it looks almost as good considering that technology has made webcams as good as camcorders used to be. Should I split my blog into a public and a private one?

Since I haven't posted a video in years, I decided to dust off the webcam to tell you all about all the snow we're getting.

Done! Yay! Loved it. It's sad how true it is to real life. So many things are bittersweet.
Java Wins!
Apparently?

This is a screenshot I took of my computer while it was rendering some HD video. A small Java app was sitting idle at the same time. Notice how important Java thinks it is? And people wonder why I hate that language...
